The annual search for our nation’s
Miss America began in 1921. What began as “Beauty
Pageant” designed to keep tourists at Atlantic City,
NJ beaches through Labor day shares the tradition of
being almost as old as Coca Cola. The Miss America
Scholarship Organization now distinguishes itself as
the single largest scholarship source for young women
in the world awarding over $45,000,000 dollars at the
local, state, and national levels of competition! For
decades, little girls all over America continue to
dream about one day becoming Miss America. She is the
exemplary role model! This incredible leadership
program prepares young women for life and remains
possible only because of incredible community
businesses, local governments, individuals, and over
300,000 volunteers nation-wide. The points of the Miss
America Crown represent SCHOLARSHIP, SUCCESS, SERVICE,
and STYLE. After a five year absence, Miss America
will celebrate her 90th birthday on January 15th, 2011
on ABC network television culminating in the crowning
of Miss America 2011!
If you are between the ages of 13-17 (Jr. in HS) or 17
